Just to give you a quick impression. People who live in Lagos know Sunday was a very dark day… lots of rain. It does not make the picture look at its best. But thing is banner is there, people see it…. the place inside is perfect for the show….

We also have one on the parking, where a lot of people visit The Lagoon restaurant or Fusion… or like to day Sterling bank has its annual meeting.

Today I am off again to the American School, sometimes you just have to explain what Rob and Emiel is about…. then they get it and come…. In fact then people are really surprised that we got this show to Lagos. And it is quite unique we have it…. a once in a life is maybe a bit to much…. but gets close.

I can tell you right know, we (sounds better ;-, and is true) are working day and night to get all things done before the show. I am lucky Maurice helps me out. It was quit a disappointment when last week I got an email that the stage-sounds and light person was not able to to his job. But you have to move on, so immediately after my meeting that day with the Social Media speaker for the Interactive Workshop, we went to a other company who can help with this. Tough thing is that I have to start all over again on negotiating… and that takes time… and that tik-tok-tik-toks away.

Tickets are at the office, sales started… always exited. Also left a big pile at The Lagoon, the place where the show will take place. Send out press kitts to all mayor papers in Lagos. Maybe they will pick it up, maybe not. We will see. With hootsuite I planned all social media for last week. I checked the numbers, and it works, people read and click….

And just now, I got mail that the banners will be ready… so we will put them at The Lagoon restaurant tomorrow… I will take pictures ….

Rob and Emiel, very busy in The Netherlands right know, have their show on May 25th and 26th. We are making a big spectacle out of it, to attract many people in all expat communities here. From the lebanese to australians, and Dutch to Italian. We also have a a good connection with Nigerian in Lagos… It is a who for all. This time I worked with Franssen and Van Iersel for the design of all material. It is very recognizable and all elements you see are consistently used. That is something over here people find very difficult to believe, that consistency in design will also contribute to awareness.

One of the hardest things here in my work is teach and convince people that a you can not switch logo’s, designs, adverts every day. I must say that if they once see how it can be done… they are convinced…

This will be held on May 26th. This Interactive workshop will be about work and balance. We all face “Operational Blindness”, simply because we are caught in our day to day routine. We tend to work hard and then even harder to get things done. But to actual step out of our daily operations and look to these from a different perspective is a major challenge.

Doing this though is critical to enable yourself to develop alternative points of view, methods to approach a similar problem all with the need to achieve one’s targets. The questions to be asked and answered:

Which alternative solutions are available to improve your business?

What you see might not be what you get?

What is true, what is perception?

What you don’t see (yet), might be highly relevant

Last week the first e-mailing was send and we have 55 subscribers. Of course that has to move up. So this week another e mailing was send, and today we will call all companies and contacts. A lot of conversations, but looking forward to it. Also social media is used to get the right attention for this Interactive Workshop. In Nigeria Facebook is most important and fastest growing, next to twitter. So both are part of the campaign.

Next week all press kist will be send out to various newspapers in Lagos. I think that you need off line and online media to reach the objective. We will keep you posted on this website about the progress. And for reservations…… mail, tweet,FB,sms, comment….

” How are you” ‘s waren er voldoende. Om vervolgens meteen door te stoten naar ” What are looking for” of “Where are you from”.

We willen graag buiten zitten.

It is really starting, all preparations for the shows in May. Rob and Emiel are coming to Lagos to do their amazing show. Last time with Plankgas was a bit smaller, but now I have a very nice an hugh ballroom where they will perform. The Lagoon in Lagos is renovating as we speak. This place can have more then 500 guests per evening, so there is al lot of work for me to get people in Lagos enthusiastic for these shows. I set up a model for sponsoring, Bronze, Silver and of course Gold. Not an easy process, but we are now up to four sponsors. That is not to bad.

All offline promo material is ready. Tickets are off to the printer tomorrow, poster will be finished this week. I had contact with LagosExplorer, a magazine for the Islands of Lagos. Here you can read what to do, what to see the coming months. This show must be one of those things.

Ofcourse I will be using all social media. Facebook is the most important one in Nigeria. A few weeks ago I already started on the events page to talk about the preparations for these shows. People start to talk about is, but I know from previous shows people will not act until the last moment. My social media plan will help to get the buzz around in Lagos together with seeing and talking to people should to the trick…. I will keep you all posted.

Any questions or reservations for this show, just let me know
